We often find many put off earning their driver’s license for a number of reasons. But the most prevalent reason is a lack of confidence in oneself.
Time and again, however, we find that once we get a student in the driver’s seat and begin providing coaching and positive reinforcement, they quickly overcome their doubts and start to shine.
Often times, they end up being better drivers than those that think they know it all! So don’t let your fears or emotions get in the way. And if you do need a little push to get you started, private lessons are a good starting point.
The road skills test is administered at the DMV to drivers 18 and older in order to receive their Virginia driver’s license. This test is performed in a vehicle that has the following:
The road skills test is offered at all DMV customer service centers, with the exception of the Fair Oaks Mall and Arlington Virginia Square locations.
Appointments may be scheduled with the DMV to take the road skills test. A DMV representative will administer the test, and you must provide evidence for completion of a state-approved driver’s education class or a Car Maneuvers Observation Record at the time of testing. For drivers under the age of 18, the road skills test will be given as part of the behind the wheel portion of driver’s ed.
After your third test failure, you’re required to complete the behind the wheel portion of driver’s education (this course). This course cannot be taken until after your third test failure.
If you failed the learner’s permit test or the Knowledge Exam at the DMV three times, you must complete an eight (8) hour driver’s manual / re-examination course before testing again.
